As a Florida Approved Premarital Course Provider, licensed minister, and founder of Minding What Matters, I combine years of relationship coaching with a Master's Diploma in Biblical Counseling specializing in Marriage and Family. My passion isn't simply helping couples get married—it's helping them build a marriage that grows stronger with time.
Through practical tools, meaningful conversations, and proven relationship principles, this course is designed to help you begin your marriage with greater understanding, stronger communication, and confidence for the journey ahead. Is this course approved by the State of Florida?
Yes. They Became One is provided by a Florida Approved Premarital Course Provider and satisfies the educational requirements outlined in Florida Statute 741.0305. Upon successful completion, you will receive a Certificate of Completion to present when applying for your Florida marriage license.
How long does the course take?
The State of Florida requires a minimum of four hours of premarital education. Because this course is completely self-paced, you can complete it in one sitting or work through it in sections at your convenience. You may start, pause, and return whenever it best fits your schedule.
Is the course completely online?
Yes. Everything is completed online from the comfort of your home or anywhere you have internet access. There are no classroom sessions to attend, making it easy to complete the course on your schedule.
When will I receive my certificate?
After you successfully complete the course, your Certificate of Completion will be emailed directly to you through our secure certificate delivery platform, Certifier. Most certificates are delivered within minutes. If you don't see your certificate in your inbox, please check your spam or junk folder as emails may occasionally be filtered by your email provider. Once received, simply download and print your certificate to present when applying for your Florida marriage license.
Can my fiancé and I take the course together?
Absolutely. Many couples enjoy completing the course together because it creates opportunities for meaningful conversations before marriage. You're also welcome to complete the course individually if your schedules don't allow you to work through it at the same time.
Will this allow us to skip Florida's three-day waiting period?
If both applicants are Florida residents and all statutory requirements are met, presenting your Certificate of Completion when applying for your marriage license allows you to qualify for Florida's waiver of the three-day waiting period, as provided by state law.
